Tell you what, I don’t really know what I should say here in free talk. Because I don’t have those meaningless and boring topic to talk with you. So finally I decided to tell you something equally meaningless and boring that happened to me.
About two weeks ago, in a weekend evening, the doorbell rang when I and my family were having supper. The door was opened to our nabougher – a Russian model who wore this bloodcurdling perfume. I opened the door and the smell just poured onto me. She said, “do you speak English?” I said, “a little bit”. She said “follow me” … And then I followed her out.
We entered her room and she said” It’s my birthday today and I’m holding a party. Please give me two cheers.” I was amazed. Was she gonna invite me to her party? How could I possibly give her “two cheers”?! She saw I didn’t understand and explained.”please give two cheers，and i’ll take you home” I still didn’t know her meaning. She said :” we are six and we only have 4 cheers, please lend me 2.” And then I understood she was asking for 2 chairs. I was in amusement and brought two chairs to hers.
One week later, the doorbell rang again when we were sleeping. The model again at the door. I looked at my watch, it was 00:40am. So I said.” Morning, can I help you?” She said, I just want to return your chairs, but I came twice and nobody was home. Wasn’t disturbing you was I?” I said,”It’s ok.” And I stood there to watch her carried the two chairs inside. I was a little angry but I still think that I should be polite. When she said thanks, I said”you’re welcome.it’s a piece of cake.” But she was nervous hearing that. She said:” I’m sorry but the cake is gone, we ate it..” I was almost frozen.But I have to say something. After a short silence, I respond,” Never mind, we had supper anyway.”……
